The holiday weekend is over and it's back to the grind. Just to get you back in the mood for work, today's jazzy post features the king of the funky flute (as well as most every other style and instrument), Yusef Lateef. Released in '72 and '69 respectively, these two cuts represent the heart of his Atlantic years and his effort to reconnect with his Motown (the city, not the label) roots. Both short, sweet, and funky, they should keep you sane till that whistle blows.
